See us at Chelsea Flower Show this week (22nd – 26th May). We lit the LG Eco-City garden designed by Hay-Joung Hwang. The lighting scheme, designed by our Creative Director Sally Storey, brings together both inside and out picking out the key features through-out.
Hay says: “We are delighted to once again be using John Cullen to light up the LG Eco-City Garden at Chelsea. Their combination of excellent colour rendition and versatile, low heat products add another dimension at night ensuring the garden looks magical at night as well as during the day. ”The path to the outdoor seating area and kitchen beyond is lit with Guida floor washers, the trees with Kensington spotlights, the seating area is under-lit with Contour HDX27 and back garden with Kew spotlights.
Inside Luccas light up the living wall. the Square Trimless provide downlight to the kitchen interior and Contour HD24 gives the kitchen island a feeling of lightness and illusion of rising from above.
Designer Hay-Joung Hwang’s garden provides a prototype for sustainable city living. It integrates our increased dependency on technology with a requirement to be mindful of the environmental issues posed by contemporary lifestyles, as well as to reduce pollution specifically in areas of high population density. The plants and trees play a role in the seasonal control of oxygen generation, humidity control, temperature moderation and the reduction of carbon dioxide.
If you are going to Chelsea Flower Show, make sure to also check out the Wallgarden. This playhouse features our Luccini uplighting the fireplace, Contour HD24 providing moody high-level lighting and Portobello magically illuminating low-level planting. Wallgarden collaborated with multi-award winning designer and landscape architect Sarah Eberle for an exciting new addition to the 2018 RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
